Schumacher retires

Now, finally after months of rumours and expecting we know it. Michael Schumacher, 7- times world champion, 90- times winner and 68- times pole setter in formula 1 will retire after this season. After 16 years in forumla one, Schumacher, the most successful driver in formula 1 history, will leave this after the next races (in Shanghai/China, Suzuka/Japan and Interlagos, Sao Paulo/Brazil). If he will leave with his 8th title is not sure yet. He still has to get 2 points of Fernando Alonso, who still leads in the championships (since the beginning of the season).

If you like Schumacher or if you also like him not: his career is incredible, and the way of his success the same. I think it would get hard to find a similar career in motorsports:

Michael Schumacher

Born was the german on 3rd of December in Hürth. He started his career already young, because his father had hired a CART track. At the beginning of his career he already met a few of his later rivals, like Heinz- Harald Frentzen, Nick Heidfeld, or the finns Mika Häkkinen and Mika Salo.

1990 Schumacher got a contract of the Mercedes Junior Team, where also the german Heinz Harald Frentzen and the austrian Karl Wendlinger were included.

1991 Jordans main driver Bertrand Gachot was in prison (a very interesting story- if I remember right he used a pepper spray against a taxi driver in London, what is named as a weapon there :P ) and Schumacher or Stefan Johansson had the option to drive instead of him in Spa- Francochamps. Jordan took Schumacher, because of better sponsors. He was surprisingly 7th in the Qualifying, but fell out after 500 metres because of a defect car.

After just 3 races the Benetton team made a contract with him and threw instead of this Roberto Moreno out.

1992 he won exactly one year after his debut in Spa and become the third german Grand Prix winner after Wolfgang Graf Berghe von Trips (who died in an F1 accident) and Jochen Mass. World Champion got Nigel Mansell.

1993 wasn’t really successful for Schumacher and Benetton. They didn’t have a lot success, the dominating team was Williams- Renault, who also got Champion with Alain Prost, who finished his career after that.

1994 he won his first Formula 1 World Championships title. After Ayrton Sennas dead in the 3rd race of the year in Imola he also didn’t have really rivals for this.

Michael Schumacher with Benetton

1995 Benetton made a engine connection with Renault and so the 2nd title followed for Schumacher.

1996 Schumacher changed from Benetton to Ferrari (he changed his place with the austrian Gerhard Berger, who went to Benetton). He just had two victories (Spa and Monza). World Champion got Damon Hill on Williams, Schumacher got 3rd after Hill and the young rookie (Indy 500 and Champ Car winner) Jacques Villeneuve.

An often seen picture: Schumacher and his Ferrari

1997- the Ferrari car was much better than the years before. Schumacher was able to drive for the champions win. At the legendary last race of Jerez 1997, him and Jacques Villeneuve could get World Champion. Schumacher leaded more than half of the race, but he suddenly got slower without any reason. Jacques Villeneuve who was behind him came close and tried to overtake him. Schumacher had waited for this, and made a collision with Villeneuve, because when both would have fallen out, Schumacher would have been the winner. But Villeneuve was able to drive on, became 3rd and won the titles. It was sure what Schumacher wanted to do, and because of this unfairness FIA took away all his points of this season.

1998 was a fight between McLaren- Mercedes and Ferrari, between the drivers Mika Häkkinen and Michael Schumacher. Mika Häkkinen was able to get the title, it was a long fight, which was open till the last race, which could the finn decide for him.

1999 was actually almost the same like the year before, but after 6 races Schumacher crashed against a tires wall and broke one leg. After this the champions were over for Schumacher- he came back, but Häkkinens only rival was Eddie Irvine, Michaels teammate- but this couldn’t stop the finn and so he celebrated his second world championships title.

2000- Schumacher and Häkkinen were THE rivals again, but this time Schumacher was able to make it and so he got his 3rd title, his first for the Scuderia Ferrari.

2001 was Ferrari clear the best team, they had the best car and so Schumachers title wasn’t in danger really. His 4th title alltogether, his second for Ferrari.

2002 was maybe the most dominant Ferrari year. Many people complained about a boring season, because Ferrari had the best car and a lot of double victories. Specially not good for the sport was was the Austrian Grand Prix in this year- Rubens Barichello was in the lead, till the already legendary sentence of Ross Brawn was spoken: “Rubens, let Michael pass for the championships”. The last metres before the finish Rubens Barichello let Schumacher pass- after this stalling orders were forbidden. But Schumacher got World champion for the 5th time. With that he had as many titles as the record man till this time, the argentinian Juan Manuel Fangio, who was also able to make 5 titles also before.

2003.Schumacher got big rivals with the young and wildes: the young finn Kimi Räikkönen in his second year for McLaren- Mercedes (he came after Mika Häkkinen retired) got just 2 points less than Schumacher at the end of the season. The other strong young was Juan Pablo Montoya from Colombia, driving Williams- BMW. Many people said it was the most interesting and thrilling season after years, because both drivers (Räikkönen and Schumacher) had chances to win the title till the last race. But Schumacher got his 6th title. With this he beated Fangios record and got the most successful f1 driver of all times. But Fangio needed for his 5 titles just 7 years (Schumacher 8) and made it with 4 different teams (Schumacher 2). Experts (and me too ;) ) say that Fangio’s titles are ‘higher’ than Schumachers, also because in Fangios time was the racer more important than the car.

2004 was as boring as 2002. Ferrari was dominant and Schumacher got his 4th title for Ferrari and his 7th (and last so far) alltogether.

2005 Ferrari was long not so good as the 5 years before. They had specially problems with the Bridgestone tires, which didn’t work good together with the car. He became 3rd in the Championships, but the only real stars of the season were Fernando Alonso and Kimi Räikkönen, who fighted for the title. At last the spanish guy could win it- the first title for a spanish man and the first for Alonso (logical somehow :P )

2006- the last season of Schumacher. He is now just 2 points behind Alonso and still 3 races are left. So it gets exciting

A good team in 2006- Massa, the new face at Ferrari
And Kimi Räikkönen will follow Schumacher- Massa and Räikkönen, Ferrais dreamteam 2007

some personal comment:

I hope for Alonso :P

JUHUU- Schumi retires— but be honest- my column was quite objective, wasn’t it? :P

Elections- fight

Hej my dear blog readers,

Most of you are not austrians, and because of this you have a bit better time in your countries at the moment i guess. Why? Well, i hope for you that you don’t have elections in about a month, like us. If yes- i feel with you ;)

What is so terrible on election- fighting?

Well, all of our parties which go into this elections want to get as many votes as possible of course. I will give you a short view over all these. I will begin with the strongest party of last elections (and the party which govers us at the moment). This party is ÖVP (Österreichische Volkspartei= austrian party of the folk)- they have a coalition with the BZÖ (Bündnis Zukunft Österreich= Alliance for the Future of Austria). After the last elections the ÖVP was together with the FPÖ (Freiheitliche Partei Österreich= Freedome Partie Austria), but FPÖ divided into FPÖ and BZÖ… this is quite complicated and it was some kind of kindergarten, so, better not to tell too much of this ;) - they just divided and then we got a ÖVP-BZÖ coalition instead of ÖVP-FBÖ. That’s how it is now. But i have the feeling this will change on 1st of October (day of elections)

ÖVP (Österreichsche Volkspartei = Austrian partie of the folk), color: black

Our Bundeskanzler (prime minister or chancellor) is Dr. Wolfgang Schüssel. He is also the ‚boss’ of the ÖVP. He govers this country for 2 periodes now- and the ‘blacks’ how they are just short called here- are also in front at the moment. Actually some interviews with the people in the country show this. We will see if these predictions are right.

Dr. Wolfgang Schüssel, ÖVP

SPÖ (Sozialdemokratische Partei Österreich= socialistic- democratic partie Austria), color: red

The boss of the SPÖ is Alfred Gusenbauer. He is also the leader of the opposition. The SPÖ was the second strongest partie of the last elections and now they finally want to come onto the top of the country after 2 leading periods again. They made some headlines in the last days, because they made a elections- connection together with the LIF (Liberales Forum= liberal forum). I’m curious if this will help.

Alfred Gusenbauer, SPÖ

FPÖ (Freiheitliche Partei Österreich= Freedome Partie Austria), color: blue

The FPÖ was the third strongest partie after the last elections, but this will not be like this again. Like i already mentioned: they divided a year and a half ago into FPÖ and BZÖ and with that they got much weaker. Heinz- Christian Strache is their boss- I’m close to write ‘leader’here- because i’m not really sure if this partie is still okay. They have a very agressive politic- opinion, and they are promoting agaisnt people of abroad. This is just my opinion please- but i tell facts. They also don’t want that EU will grow more- and they are also against joining Turkey to EU, because they want to keep the ‘christian’ EU…

Heinz- Christian Strache, FPÖ

Die Grünen (the greens), color: green [:P]

For the first time the greens have really good chances to come into a coalition- gouverment. They keep good connection and opinions to the two strongest parties SPÖ and ÖVP. I think they also will get more votes this time and get the third position. They are for a better woman- politics (women and men shall get paid the same, more money for mothers who have to get up their kids alone…), they want to go out of the ‘Eurofighter- contract’ (Eurofighters are planes which would cost 2 billion [per plane!!!] and with what out goverment made a contract. These planes are for defending… nobody needs them really, but they made a contract and the greens want to try to get out of this), they want to put more money in education (kindergarten, school, university), enviroment, and progress. The only thing what they can’t promise is, that we have to pay less- but i think this is clear. As you see, i like this party and i have a sympatic opinion ;) - their boss is Alexander van der Bellen.

Alexander van der Bellen, Die Grünen

BZÖ (Bündnis Zukunft Österreich= Alliance for the Future of Austria), color: orange

BZÖ divided 1 year and a half ago from FPÖ. In this time Jörg Haider (also the governour of Kärnten/Koroška/Carinthia) made the dividing and was the boss of them but now Peter Westentaler has the lead. In principal they are the same as FPÖ- but they are their worst ‘enimies’ at the same time. For me this partie is something like Haiders private- party. As i said above, Haider is also the governour of Kärnten (one of Austrias 9 federal states) and there he makes a lot of problems. For example there is of course this silly quarrel with the panels. There are living a lot of slovenians in Kärten and they are enough, that they can get panels for villages in two languages. They want this of course. At the moment the most are just german, but there should be german- slovenian panels. Normally this would be no problem, but Haider makes them! Once he set one panel (the one of Bleiburg- unfortunately i don’t know the slovenain name for it, sorry) 1 meter behind the original place- because then, he said, it is another panel, and so he doesn’t need to listen to the judgement of the trial, which told that all panels in this area must get german- slovenian. Some days ago he made a annouce in some newspapers in which he wrote: “Kärnten wird einsprachig”- which means “Carinthia gets ONE language”- he knowes exactly that there are also slovenians! I don’t have the feeling that Austria can trust this man. I don’t like him and he makes me angry more and more with this shit… sorry, i just can’t stay at a neutral opinion ;)

Peter Westenthaler, BZÖ

Jörg Haider, BZÖ

KPÖ (Kommunistische Partei Österreich= communist partie Austria), color: yellow

Well, i must say i know very, very less about this partie, i even don’t know who is their boss. But i think this will not be so important, because i have the feeling that they will not get so many votes. Communists are not very popular in Austria. But i think i don’t need to tell their motives to you- read Karl Marx ;)

LIF (Liberales Forum= liberal forum), color: no idea :P

They are very weak and alone they would have no chance, but they went into a election- coalition with the SPÖ- i’m not sure if it helps anything…

Matin (Liste Hans- Peter- Martin= list Hans- Peter- Martin), color: white

He has to start with his french name Matin, because it is not allowed to have more than 5 letters on the paper for votes… i wonder why he doesn’t start as HPM then… but okay… he already started once with a list and he was surprisingly good there (it was not such an election how it is now). Hans- Peter- Martin is an austrian EU- polican member and he is a bit strange in my opinion. He doesn’t like politics really (so it seems to me), but he is in there and he also starts in an election. In general i think he has good ideas, but i never would be able to vote for him, because he just seems so unsympathic to me…

Hans- Peter Martin, Matin

So, these are all our parties. Unfortunately i’m not allowed to vote :P I think our goverment will be

Black- green

After the elections- and to be honst: i also hope so.

The greens are my favourite partie (at the moment). I think they have really good opinions and ideas, but they have no idea of governing a country so far- it would be good if the ÖVP will be in a coalition with them, i think this could bring a lot. The ideas and the motivations of the greens and the realistic thinkings and the idea of gouverning of the ÖVP.

We will see- i will tell you about the elections after 1st of October,

Have a nice day

Susi =)

Is it love?

A girl and a boy met in the evening. They were together for a long time. Before saying goodbye she looked at him-

Do you like me?”

- he said no.

Do you think I’m pretty?”

- he said no.

Am I in your heart?”

- he said no.

As last she asked him:

If I would go away- would you cry for me?”

- He said no again.

She went away sadly.

Then he took her hand, his face got close to hers, and he whispered into her ear:

“I don’t like you-

I love you.

I don’t think that you are pretty-

you are beautiful.

You are not in my heart-

you ARE my heart.

And if you go away, i wouldn’t cry for you-

I would die.”

Robbie Williams in Wien

He got it once again! Robbie Williams was great in the Vienna Ernst- Happel- Stadion. I was

there on Friday, together with 5 other girls, my classmates and friends Johanna, Anna and Steffi, and Steffi’s sister Karin, and i really was impressed by te tons of other people who were there. 55.000 people (and the same on Saturday again). Even Robbie had flu, he gave everything. The most funny thing was, when he talked to us at the beginning of the show:

“Hello Viennaaaaaaa- You see, i will tell you a true story now- I was lying in my bed yesterday evening-… alone…”

“ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh”

“Yeah- and i was thinking about this… and you know what- i thought: Das ist scheiße (engl: That’s shit)”-

I think you can imagine, that everybody laughed- his german was very funny ;)

“And now i’m going to tell you a true story… Today in the afternoon- i got sick…”

“ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh”

“Yeah- and the doctor came to my room…”

“ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh”

“Yeah- and he said: Oh Robbie, you are so sick- you won’t be able to be on stage today!!!”

“Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh”

“YEAH!- but do you know what i said? I said-

FUCK YOU DOCTOR!!!!!!”

“Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah”

;)

After a few songs he decided to chose the most disgusting Poster. There was one (kids under 16, close your eyes now Wink) “Would you fuck us for a blow?”

“That’s not correct english- but i understand what you mean!”, he laughed.

Some fans wrote onto their banner: “We came from Brazil to see you!”

“Oh- you don’t need to come here to see me- I will have a gig in Rio soon- you could have saved the flying tickets… the fans don’t need to come to Robbie, Robbie comes to you!”

I don’t know if you ever heard 55.000 people laughing at the same time, but you can believe me, it sounds incredible.

His first songs were great, but the best mood came, when he started with his really great (and older) songs, like Millenium, “Come Undone”, “Strong” or “Feel”. Then all the people sang in the stadion. It was an amazing feeling, and i really wouldn’t want to miss it.

But the most beautiful was, when he got a man onto the stage, after “Rudebox”

“This is my friend Dave”, he said.

Then he got a woman onto the stage. She was Dave’s girlfriend Susie. “And Dave has something to say!”

Then the man went to her, took her right hand and said first:

“I love you”

Then he got down onto his knees and asked her, if she wants to marry him.

I swear you, it was so wonderful, and then Robbie said:

“And now “Angels”- for you two”

The two sat onto the stage during Robbie and everybody sang Angels for them. It was really emotional, and this girl had tears in her eyes. Angels is the best song of Robbie in my opinion, and it was also the best on at this day.

All in all i must say, a really great concert i wouldn’t want to miss the feeling, that we had been there. It was sure worth of every cent i had to pay for it.

And at last, my favourite song of him:

ANGELS

I sit and wait
Does an angel contemplate my fate ?
And do they know
The places where we go
When we’re grey and old ?
‘Cos I’ve been told
That salvation lets their wings unfold
So when I’m lying in my bed
Thoughts running through my head
And I feel that love is dead
I’m loving angels instead

CHORUS:
And through it all she offers me protection
A lot of love and affection
Whether I’m right or wrong
And down the waterfall
Wherever it may take me
I know that life won’t break me
When I come to call
She won’t forsake me
I’m loving angels instead

When I’m feeling weak
And my pain walks down a one way street
I look above
And I know I’ll always be blessed with love
And as the feeling grows
She breathes flesh to my bones
And when love is dead
I’m loving angels instead

And through it all she offers me protection
A lot of love and affection
Whether I’m right or wrong
And down the waterfall
Wherever it may take me
I know that life won’t break me
When I come to call
She won’t forsake me
I’m loving angels instead

And through it all she offers me protection
A lot of love and affection
Whether I’m right or wrong
And down the waterfall
Wherever it may take me
I know that life won’t break me
When I come to call
She won’t forsake me
I’m loving angels instead

Robbie Williams

Hej my dear friends,

I think i told you this already for a few times, but i think i should do it once again ;) :

I will go to the Robbie Williams concert in Vienna on Friday. I already will leave this evening to my friends Johanna and Anna, because our Journey will start from there. We will arrive at about midday in vienna (at Friday)- then we want to go shopping and later we can get our room in the youth hostel we booked:

Wombats- the lounge- vienna

It is a really great hostel, and there are people from all over the world- it also seems to have very nice rooms:

The ticket to success: A lot of people would do a lot to get what i have in my hands: Wink

But i heard that there are still 500 tickets left, which you can buy in the evening before the concerts- so, if you still want to go in, you have a chance!

so many news…

It is really strange, sometimes it happens nothing for months, but when I am on holidays for just 1 week, it seems that everything happens to this time.

Okay, here are the newest important news:

++++ Rooney forgives Cristiano Ronaldo!++++

The two ManU-players had an internal fight since Ronaldo wanted the red card for Wayne Rooney after he stepped onto Cristianos teammate Cavalho, which he also got. Rooney was so angry after this, that he swore that he will break Ronaldo into two pieces when he will see him the next time. After this Cristiano Ronaldo got the “enimy of the nation no. 1″ for many english people and some hooligans also damaged his house. But now Rooney forgave Ronaldo. He said, that they are friends in principal, and that he recognized, that it wasn’t his fault- “He just wanted to get the best for his country”, Rooney said. Instead of Ronaldo, the referees are now in Rooneys eye: “it seems like they just want the worst for me”.

Now it also seems like, that Ronaldo will stay at ManU, and not change to Real Madrid, like he wanted. Ferguson, the manager of ManU said, that they don’t want to give away one of their most talented young players. But ManU wants to sell one player to get Adriano, the brazillian star. and for this they need money. So, maybe the 28 million offer from Valencia comes to the right time…

+++Toni stays at Fiorentia!+++

Luca Toni is a wanted man. Not just that he shot 31 goals in the italian serie A, and was the best of his league with this, no, he also got the goal attacker of europe and won the ‘golden shoe’ with this.

Last week Luca suddenly wanted to leave his club the FC Fiorentia, because Inter Milano was interested in him. This club is in the middle of the scandal of the italian football clubs and it will start with – 19 points into the next season. It is also forbidden for this club to stay in Champions League.

“Luca recognized, that we need him”, explained the club boss Diego Della Valle, “We talked about this, without talking about money. Toni showed, that the Club is more important for him, than money.”

The fans who were first quite angry with their idol, already forgave him his ‘mistake’. He already got a lot of applaud from the audience at the last training.

The brazillian racing driver Cristiano da Matta, ex Toyota- F1 driver, who had an accident with a deer which ran into his champ car during the training last week and who was heavily injured, woke not up from coma so far, but he is on the way to it.

They slowly go on step by step, he is close to wake up. His family doesn’t leave his bed, they talk with him, he already recognizes touches and similar things, but he can’t react when they say: “Cristiano, open your eyes.”

+++ Red Bull takes Webber instead of Klien+++

Many people thought it, now it’s fixed:

The australian Mark Webber will go to RedBull and meet David Coulthard as teammate there. It seems that Christian Kliens F1-career stops after 3 average years. He began in 2004 with Jaguar (his teammate was Mark Webber in this year, who will come instead of him now), Jaguar was bought of RedBull in 2005, where Klien made 15 of the 19 races (the other 4 made VitanTonio Liuzzi, who is now at the Squadra Toro Rosso, and he will also stay there, how it looks now). In 2006 Kliens results where under average, and Coulthard beated him most of the time.

It also doesn’t look good for another team, because the top teams are almost fixed.

Williams: Wurz (fixed), Rosberg (fixed)

McLaren- Mercedes: Alonso (fixed), probably: Räikkönen, de la Rosa, Hamilton

Renault: Fisichella (fixed), most probably: Kovalainen, probably: Massa, Räikkönen

Ferrari: very unsure, if Schumacher goes on his career he’s fixed. Räikkönen is also very possible. If Schumacher stops, Massa is fixed too.

Red Bull: Coulthard (fixed), Webber (fixed)

BMW Sauber: not sure, but the most possible is the combination Heidfeld and Kubica

Scuderia Toro Rosso: Gerhard Berger, 50%- owner, already said, that he would want to go on with the same team he already has now: Speed and Liuzzi

+++ Senna back to F1?+++

When Ayrton Senna crashed into the wall of the Tamburello corner on May 1st 1994 and died after this, formula 1 didn’t just lose one of their most charismatic characters, it also followed a big crisis.

Now, 12 years after this terrible happening, rumours get loud, that the name Senna will appear back to Formula 1.

Bruno Senna, the 22 years old nephew of Ayrton, driver in the british F1 at the moment, does not just look similar to his uncle. “He reminds me very much to Ayrton”, Gerhard Berger, the best friend of Ayrton Senna says. Berger also owns the F1 team Scuderia Toro Rosso for 50%- so, a good contact?

“Gerhard can help me to get a first view of Formula 1″, so Bruno. “I’m not ready to be there already, but i get more and more experiences, with ever race. I think i would be fast in a F1 car. But I must get good results- otherwise i will not come far- with or without the name Senna.”
